October Rounds Reveal East-West Divide

The latest Golf Datatech National Rounds Played Report with results for October 2022 is out now.

The three-page report contains year over year results for eight regions, all states and several metropolitan areas.  Rounds played were down 1.1% for the month of October, 2022, and on a YTD basis they’re down only 2.4%.

While the bulk of the east coast, from Maine to Florida, saw significant declines due to heavy precipitation, cold, and hurricanes in October, the heartland and the west coast enjoyed weather improvements and played a lot more rounds than a year ago.

On the latest numbers, Golf Datatech co-founder John Kryznowek said, “With only two months to go, rounds played continue to be in a very good place, only slightly below last years peak, even after facing some poor weather early in the season.  The game remains healthy and strong even as America returns back to “normal” activities”.

2023 will certainly provide challenges if inflation continues to rage and the economy slows, but for the moment, it’s good to see golf continuing to be in a positive place.
